Mayor Nick Sacco, North Bergen Township and North Hudson Community Action Corporation are partnering to present three free informational seminars on the Affordable Care Act to residents starting next week. The seminars will be run by a certified outreach specialist employed by NHCAC and will give participants a chance to learn about the law and how it affects them, see what kind of tax credits or assistance they are entitled to and sign up for insurance coverage.
“While it clearly got off to a rough start, the Affordable Care Act is now helping millions of Americans get access to quality, affordable health care for the first time,” said Mayor Nick Sacco. “With so much uncertainty about the law and with many uninsured people in our area we felt it was vitally important to provide this service and help people get the information and help they need to get covered.”
The first informational seminar will be held on Monday, February 10th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the North Bergen Free Public Library Main Branch, 8411 Bergenline Avenue. The next event will be on Tuesday, February 11th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the North Bergen Library’s Kennedy Branch, 2123 Kennedy Boulevard. The final seminar will be on Wednesday, February 12th from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at North Bergen Township Hall, 4233 Kennedy Boulevard. The locations and times are designed to accommodate all areas of North Bergen and various schedules. The seminars will be advertised in local media, fliers will be posted in township facilities and information will be placed on the township’s website northbergen.org.
