NORTH BERGEN, NJ – The Nicholas J. Sacco Foundation, a charitable organization headed by Mayor/State Senator Nick Sacco, gave back during the holiday season by donating $1,000 each to two local food pantries in Hudson County. Run respectively by Woodcliff Community Church in North Bergen and Holy Redeemer Church in West New York, the food pantries help struggling families in the area by providing meals and bags of food and other goods.
“I was proud to support these two organizations in their mission of providing a crucial service to members of our local communities who are struggling,” said Sacco. “Unemployment and underemployment are serious problems in our state and especially in urban areas. We need to do more to create more jobs and better opportunities for people to work hard and rise out of poverty and into the middle class, and to maintain a strong social safety net to make sure that families facing difficult circumstances are not left behind.”
The Nicholas J. Sacco Foundation is a non-profit organization that donates to various worthy causes in North Hudson County.
