Julio Marenco was elected to the Board of Commissioners in 2015 following multiple terms of service on the North Bergen Board of Education, including as its President. He is an appointed Associate Member of the State Parole Board, holds a Juris Doctorate Degree from Seton Hall University and teaches as an adjunct professor.
Julio is responsible for maintaining tight budget control and a stable tax rate as Revenue and Finance Commissioner. Property taxes have continued to remain stable, never increasing more than a cost-of-living adjustment, during Julio's tenure as Commissioner. He works closely with Township Administrator Chris Pianese to manage the municipal budgeting process, apply for aid and grant funding, and spend taxpayers’ money wisely. Commissioner Marenco is working to keep North Bergen affordable for both homeowners and renters with stable property taxes and the state's strongest rent control law.
