IMG_3551_crop.jpgDemocrats State Senator Nick Sacco, Assemblyman Vincent Prieto and Assemblywoman Angelica Jimenez officially began their re-election campaign in the 32nd Legislative District with a rally attended by over 1,500 enthusiastic supporters Tuesday night at Schuetzen Park Banquet Hall in North Bergen. Sacco, Prieto and Jimenez were joined by dozens of high profile Democratic leaders who showed their support for the trio and their running mate Hudson County Sheriff Frank Schillari, including State Senator and Gubernatorial Candidate Barbara Buono, Congressman Albio Sires, Hudson County Executive Tom DeGise, Hudson County Democratic Chairman and Bayonne Mayor Mark Smith, Bergen County Democratic Chairman Lou Stellato, State Senator Sandra Cunningham, Assemblyman Charles Mainor and a host of other state, county and local officials.

“This rally was a fantastic show of the strength of our organization and the level of support our team has in the community,” said Sacco, who also serves as Mayor of North Bergen. “We never take any election for granted and we will be campaigning hard to make sure that we all return to Trenton so we can keep fighting for the people of the 32ndDistrict.”

Sacco, Prieto and Jimenez are running in the June 4th Democratic Primary Election for the party’s nomination in November’s General Election. They have the support of the Hudson County Democratic Organization and the Bergen County Democratic Committee, the two counties located within the 32nd District.

“It was great to see so many friends and supporters all together in the same place united for a common goal,” said Assemblyman Prieto, who chairs the Assembly Budget Committee. “I am very excited to meet even more voters throughout our district and earn their support and trust.”

The 32nd district includes North Bergen, West New York, Secaucus, Guttenberg, Kearny, Harrison, East Newark, Fairview and Edgewater.

“We are working hard in Trenton fighting for the Democratic values that we all share and it was amazing to see the community come out in droves to show their support for our vision,” said Assemblywoman Jimenez. “I would like to thank each and every one of the people who took time out of their busy lives to join together and support our team.”

Hudson County Sheriff Frank Schillari is also running for re-election in the June Democratic Primary on the Hudson County Democratic Organization line with the support of Senator Sacco, Assemblyman Prieto and Assemblywoman Jimenez.

“I am proud to be running for re-election as Nick Sacco’s running mate and with the backing of so many friends and supporters from all over Hudson County,” said Sheriff Schillari. “We have an outstanding Democratic team and I look forward to victory in both June and November.”
